Parenthood is one of the main reasons why teen girls drop out of school. More than 50% of teen mothers never graduate from high school. Not graduating high school sets these moms back in most cases and can lead to a higher risk of poverty for the mother and her child. Without a GED her earning potential may be heavily affected as well.

Supporting these women is something that we as a society need to do. How can we help them stay in school? Or obtain a GED? Or provide for their child?

Lucky for you, you’ve come to the right place to find this information. Elizabeth’s New Life Center has been empowering mothers and families since 1989! What are some ways you can join us in this work?

  1. Donate- We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. That means we accept tax-deductible donations from kind-hearted and passionate people like yourself. There are many ways that you can get involved in our fundraising efforts. We have several cash-based campaigns, as well as material assistance options. Visit https://elizabethnewlife.org/support-us/ or contact your local Development Officer to get started!
  2. Volunteer- We have a large group of dedicated volunteers that consult with and mentor the moms (and dads!) in our centers. We also have volunteers that help us with cleaning, counting change from our Bottles for Babies campaigns, special projects and so much more! You can become a volunteer by applying on our website.
  3. Learn- Educating yourself on the struggles that new parents face is a large part of helping them. Learning about their needs so you can better understand how to help meet them is essential for helping this group succeed.
  4. Pray- These young moms and dads need prayers! Pray for strength, clarity, providence and that God will be near to them and bless them abundantly through the gift of parenthood.

These are some of the BEST ways in which you can support young mothers and families. We hope that this inspires you to get involved and help those in need. Please continue to pray for our clients, staff, and volunteers as we work to empower families and be the hands and feet of Jesus each day!
