Dear ENLC friends,
Today the highest court in our land, the U.S. Supreme Court, in a landmark decision, voted to overturn a California law that required pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise for abortion and provide women with information about abortion.
Without question, this is a victory for the First Amendment, but most importantly, it’s a victory for the unborn and for women seeking alternatives to abortion, and it’s a victory for pregnancy centers across the country, just like ENLC’s Women’s Centers of Ohio, which work tirelessly day in and out to advance the pro-life cause.
In a 5-4 decision in National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) vs. Becerra, the justices ruled in favor NIFLA and found that the California law, which forces pregnancy centers to post signs about state-sponsored abortion services, is likely a violation of free speech.
The court’s decision bolsters our position and vindicates the pro-life movement. As God is the author of life, and as we stand as His humble servants in the gap between life and death for our preborn brothers and sisters, won’t you join with me as together we celebrate in Christ’s name, thanking Him for another victory for life.
May His name be praised,
Vivian Koob, Executive Director, ENLC
